I’ve created this page to make a difference in the lives of people living with neurological disorders.
Having previously sustained a traumatic brain injury whilst kite surfing, and taking a long 5 years to recover, I know firsthand the struggles people with neurological issues can face, and also the challenges the close family members deal with every day.
This May I am running in one of the worlds toughest marathons - the Great Wall Marathon in China. It’s a personal celebration for me, to be able to make the most of every day, to train for and plan the conquering of this epic event. And also a way to hopefully raise awareness and money for the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand.
This foundation is helping so many New Zealanders by researching into a broad range of neurological disorders (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Motor Neuron Disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, migraine, epilepsy and traumatic brain injuries to name a few!) This doesn’t come cheap. I’d be so thrilled to reach my fundraising target of $2500 or more. I will match your generous donations to the value of $2500. Will you help me?
If anyone fancies coming on a training run with me, let me know! I’m heat training at the moment, so the hotter the better!
